March 12, 2020, was a very long day. The drama started at 2:30 AM Paris time while on a long-planned girlfriends’ trip to France. Our phones blew up with calls and texts from loved ones alerting us to the breaking news of travel restrictions from Europe to the U.S.
Was this stressful? Of course. Did I panic? A little. And then a mindful moment of PBR kicked in: Pause, Breathe, Respond with Intention. As Solvasa’s Dr. Kristen Race teaches, we cannot control stress by controlling the situation or the environment. We can only control stress by controlling how we respond to it. By 6:00 AM we were at the Paris CDG airport and by 1:00 PM Pacific Time, we were back in California.
As that exceptionally long day came to an end, I couldn’t help but be filled with gratitude for the Solvasa products and practices that helped me but can also help all of us weather the many sources of stress associated with COVID-19.
Here are just a few thoughts that came to mind:
- Taking an extra minute with the Crystal Wand and DeStressance to release tension between the brows.
- “Habit stacking” a few minutes of mindful breathing with Golden Harmony Cleansing Mask to start the day with refreshed skin and perspective.
- Reinforcing natural resilience to inflammatory stress with the proven benefits of curcumin in a delicious cup of Golden Moment Turmeric Elixir.
- Sharing 3 good things that happened today with a friend or two to train the brain for positivity and forward thinking.
As so many of us are homebound, dealing with the anxieties associated with the unknown and the lifestyle disruptions of social distancing, it’s a great time to practice what we preach and preach what we practice. The Solvasa message is more timely and relevant than ever and with the power of digital technology, we can all spread the word without spreading the germs. Let’s get intentional about managing the stress and anxiety and make this an opportunity for gratitude and growth. And the next time you wash your hands, as you’re feeling the sensation of the soap and water across your skin, take a moment to pause, breathe and appreciate the beauty in your presence.
